The text was written about eyewitnesses who sometimes help guilty people be convicted, sometimes cause to identify innocent people. Up to me it cannot be said neither testimonies of eyewitnesses are reliable nor they are unreliable. There is a conciderable amount of eyewitnesses who make right decisions about criminals, but everybody can make mistakes because of the human disposition. Sometimes the result of it runs away with important things. Memories of Bernard Jackson can be shown as a good example of this. Because of the wrong identification he lost 5 years of his life. There are a large number of examples like this. Many factors as the author mentioned misdirect eyewitnesses' decisions, but it shoudn't be comprehended that they are generally mistaken, such as rape, theft, seizure, etc. The long and short of it, eyewitnesses have a very big importance on the verdict about guilties. And also it cannot be generalized about this issue.

Who can be sure who guilty is.Most people answer eyewitness. Most of the time eyewitnesses are right, but what can we do when they are wrong. Our eyes want to see big piece that eyewitnesses are right. For this reason,I like the author’s plot.He mentioned from small piece. The subject is comprehensible, but unfortunately my knowledge wasn’t enough to express an opinion,so I did some research. These are my result and my opinion: Although eyewitness identification is highly fallible, it still carries great weight with jurors. There are some situations where identification is more likely accurate. For example, if the suspect is someone previously known to the victim, then high accuracy is more probable. When it comes to strangers, however, identifications are frequently in error. Lastly, eyewitness confidence provides only modest assurance that the identification is correct.

The reliability of eyewitnesses is a controversial subject. We know, most of testimonies of eyewitnesses are correct and very leading to find criminals.Because of that ,judgments of the court and the jurors are mostly based on testimony of eyewitnesses. On the other hand ,there are some bitter cases like Bernard Jackson’s.Inaccuracy of an eyewitnesses causes a man’s life.We all say İt’s not fair, but we can’t say eyewitness is completely wrong.Eye witnessess are human just like us.They have their own weaknesses.Actually one of us can be one of them in any time. But of course it doesn’t change the situation of innocent person who is convicted because of something he/she hasn’t done. It’s a real dilemma.I think the police should conduct an investigation with psychologists to counteract these kind of sadly ended up case so that there will be no Bernard Jackson anymore.

    - The Reliability of Eyewitnesses -

According to laws, eye witnesses is the best source for getting information. If you have an eyewitness, you don't need having another proof, but sometimes it causes problems, like Bernard Jackson's situation. In my opinion, eyewitness is not best way to find out truth. We need more information, and certain proofs. We can't trust all people because humans can be wrong or tell lies. As telling lies might be easier than telling truths. Therefore, the reliability of eyewitness must be supported with proofs. According to passage, many people think that police officers are more reliable than ordinary people. I don't believe that because they are also humanbeings. They might be wrong, they can commit crimes. As I said, researches show us, there is no certain fact that police officers or other officers cannot be wrong. Therefore, the best thing you have is the thing you get on your own.

    ISSUE:The Reliability of Eyewitnesses

Testimony of the eyewitness is one of the important evidences in the American Court System ,but when we ask how much it reliable, the question mark appears in people's mind.In this case,we have two chance.First,we trust.Second, the mistake of the misleading testimony must be proved. The author explained these issueses in the text. The case mentioned in the text shows us effect of the eyewitnesses can change everbody's life even innocent people's.Eyewitnesses can decide mistakenly because there are many situation which affect and change their decisions. Some of the people found police officers' testimonies more reliable than the normal people. In my opinion, this idea changes case to case.In short,it is situatinal also psychologists found no difference between them.Despite all, eyewitneses have big role in the crimes because most of them are true, and I am agree on that.

Well ,well , well ... Dear blog how have you been since our last meeting ? any hacker attacks ? I hope you have been well my tongueless knowledegable friend. I have another story to tell you its about reliability of an eyewithness .Testimony of an eyewithness must be really important.Human brain works like a recorder , this is why its that important. It records 7 days ,24 hours. Testimony of a victim is more important in such case because everyone would prefer to believe it without thinking and this would cause unpleasent things for example sending someone innocent to jail. Our lovely writing explained this very well.Under pressure someone would tell anything to anyone. This indicates us that testimony is a delicate thing .Author must be a wise person. He indicates that testimony may not be based on truths all the time.

All text mentioned about reliability of eyewitnesses.First text which takes part in issues for today 3 explained importance of eyewitnesses in American court system, but also the author confessed that eyewitnesses can make a lot of mistake. On the other hand, the second text critisized reliability of eyewitnesses in a relentless and scientific way.In my estimation, just eyewitnesses's testimony never tell the truth to us about who is guilty? For example,a eyewitness can easily scare when s/he sees a knife or a gun.Then,s/he never concentrate over criminal's appearance. Therefore,I think polices are more reliable than civilians about testimony.Especially a eyewitness accept a bribe then change him/her testimony coarsely.Besides,a eyewitness who is too old never sees criminal properly. Also, severe interrogation's process can affect a eyewitness's statement. In brief, eyewitnesses have human being's puniness.Due to the reasons listed,I never rely on eyewitnesses. Therefore,I support second text's author's idea generally, but I believe that every eyewitnesses are valuable in every court system ,and they possess significant position to find criminal

  9. How much we can rely on testimony of an eyewitness? From these two texts I learned that it is a hard question to answer. Can an eyewitness always be right or tell the truth? There are more things like these questions that we should consider when judging. From one of the texts there was information about difference between reliability of the police and the civilians. Psychologists showed that there is no difference between the police and the civilians as an eyewitness. All the people cannot remember every detail of the crime and can make some mistakes. I am not saying that we should never trust an eyewitness, but we should consider the reliability of an eyewitness. That is why we need more than one eyewitness or much more evidence shows that the suspect is the real criminal like camera records.

    ISSUE:The Reliability of Eyewitnesses
I would like to say that life is not beautiful, and probably Bernard Jackson is agree with me. Also life is not fair because he lost five years from his life in prison. The jury convicted Bernard based on the testimony of two witnesses. This situation remind me a movie which name is Pardon. I do not remember clearly, but there was the same situation. A man was put in prision mistakenly.End of the movie police guys understand that they made a mistake, and the man was not a guilty, and they said ''sorry'', and they set him free. All this happened because of eyewitnesses. If were Bernard, I kill them in this way my five years did not go to waste. There is no good side of this situation, but yes we learn that eyewitnesses are not positively reliable from it. The author said that there are many factors which influence the accuracy of eyewitnesses testimony. I understand they can become confused by seeing many photographs or similar faces, but if they are confused, they do not try to identify because it is very importing thing. The another mistake is that people believe that police officers are more reliable than ordinary people. When we cannot trust people who saw the crime, how can we trust police officers who saw nothing? I think it is a great mistake to think that police officers are not ordinary people. Whatever pyschologists made a test, and they found no difference between civilians and police in correctly remembering the details of the crime. In other words nobody is reliable. As a result I learned that do not trust anyone from this chapter.
