Reading Journal -10-
YanıtlaSilAncient Egypt always appeals me. Especially, pyramids, pharoahs, sfenx. Egyptians have really interesting culture. Even today, scientist trying to find how the pyramids was built. Another mystery is pharoah tombs. Many people believes tombs are cursed. It's just a myth, but still tombs are interesting and full of mystery. According to passage, a group of archeologists found a tomb which have two chambers. When they opened first, they couldn't catch air. Second time, they worked hard to catch air, but the room wasn't sealed. They thought it was a terrible situation. I think it wasn't because this fault taught scientist to be more carefull while doing excavation. In my opinion, it is the most important point.
CONGRATULATIONS Yiğit!!First comment came from you ,and we are proud of you my friend ;) :D
YanıtlaSilREADING JOURNAL - 10
YanıtlaSilIt can be thought that Egypt is an immortal and arcane place for all archeologist. When I read this passage, I asked this question by myself. Why do we want to discover our past? How can it help us? In my humble opinion, all people are always curious about their ancient ages because if a person is unaware about what happened at past, he or she is not able to make a good future for all humanity. Because of this, many archeologist have been searching and excavating the ancient artifacts in Egypt. The Great Pyramid attarcted people's attention many moons ago. How was it built? Why were there many secret roads? It is also exciting that it was made for what purpose. When scientists opened the first chamber, they saw that all the ancient air had escaped. It was a mistake, but if they had not made this mistake, they would not improve the technology. It can be seemed that failures are bad, but we have been learning a lot of things with the help of our failures. New excavations in Egypt will help us understand the secrets. Who know, maybe we will discover things which seem impossible to us. Why not?
READING JOURNAL-10
YanıtlaSilFrankly reading passages' topics of this week are attracted to write a journal.People with all ages always curious about ancient civilizations such as Ancient Egypt,The Roman Empire. This curiosity constituted a new science:archeology.Nowadays, archeologists are discovering historic areas such as Egyptian Pyramids,Pompeii.Egyptian Pyramids are known by everyone, but Pompeii does not.Actually Pompeii’s story quite interesting than Egyptian Pyramids as far as I read.Pompeii which is a Roman city was unable to retort by ashes of volcano Mount Vesuvius. In other words,The whole city disappeared suddenly. This sounds like a massacre, but thanks to the eruption was so sudden, the city has preserve its beauty, reality, and naturality.Another operand subject is Great Pyramid. This passage wrote about archeologists who want to find second boat and second chamber’s ancient air. They were successful to find second chamber and second boat ,but they can’t catch second chamber’s ancient air. They learned a valuable lesson from the investigation of second chamber. The lesson is that preserve ancient remains
I am always interested in ancient history.Because of this ,to read a text like that made me happy. It was an instructive and interesting text for me.But it made me a lil bit angry because wasting such a precious example like ancient air(!) is a big mistake.I wish the archeologists were more accurate. To have that air example could improve archeology in one year as much as they can improve in 100 years.I wish those chamber were found fourty-fifty years later,so they can be searched carefully.I like the text and I hope I see more ancient-subjected text.

YanıtlaSilThe picture of the passage made me excited because I am interested in ancient times especially,Egyptians, like most people. However we do not have enough knowledge about ancient.Unfortunately,my knowledge about ancient times is also limited.Although it is not relevant to the author,I was enlightened assorted issues in the classroom.I mostly watch documentary, and I know what excavations are,and they always made me excited. When I retired,I want to do some researchs.Besides all these, the paragraph also gave me some details. For example,I was fascinated while the author was mentioning samples of 4600 year-old-air.On the other hand,I think we have some ancient mysteries in Turkey.I wish we are discussing Hittite,Phrygia,Urartu, and others.I suggest going to Museum of Anatolian Civilizations someone who wondered these civilizations.

YanıtlaSilIssue:Ancient Artifacts and Ancient Air
Issues of this week is science and history. Our reading text was exactly written about excavation in Eygpt in 1954.The author concentrated on ancient artifact and ancient air.How archeologist made this examination, what they found, and which lesson did they take from this excavation. In this text the author answered these questions. The text included amazing information about the Egyptians. One of the interesting information was about the Egyptians' religion.Depend on their religion, they believed that dead pharaohs can only carry with two boats:one to carry the body, and the other to carry the soul. They found untouched crypt, and first of all, they entered into tis chamber. They hoped to found two boat in there, but they did not. They were another sealed chamber near the first room. They thought that second boath should be in there.About first room, they found 4,600 year-old boat. Also, they were wondering about air in the second room. Before the examination, they planned how they can save the ancient air perfectly. But they could not achieve their aim about air,but the second boat was hear.Nowadays, the first boat is exhibited in the Egypt. In my opinion, the subject was to specific and a little bit boring.I wanted to read something abouth pyramids instead of ancient air.Still thanks the author for one's effort...
I am always curious about the ancient times, and ancient civilizations.Especially Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greek. They look so mystical and interesting, but I think this passage can be more interesting, but I am not disappointed because I have already estimated, even issues for today ruined such an interesting topic, but even if I am supposed to say something, this passage mentions about relationship between the evcavations and developing technology.Thankful the technology, in the past archeologists used to damage artifacts, and they did not enough pay attention. They must work more carefully because a lot of secrets of the past in the Pyramids. Most of people still curious about their mummy technique, and how they built the Pyramids.Archeology will say a lot of things so far. They have the four thousand six hundred years old air escaped, this is disappointing.Being archeologist gets a lot of responsibilities, so they must be careful.
YanıtlaSilI have always interested in history and myths. That’s why I was quite happy when this topic came up. As we can understand from this text, ancient times still have some unrevealed mysteries. Egyptians were quite good at math and every other science type. They were beyond their time and the most civilized civilization in those times. However, the text emphasizes on a different topic, maybe the least important thing to reveal from that time, the air. I was bored when I was reading text because of their trying to show their pathetic failure is something we should be sorry. We all know that they take everything which they can take and make profit from it. They left the second chamber probably because it was almost impossible to reach and they didn’t have enough space to take something out. Therefore, they took photos of everything and only tried to take sample from ancient air, but they failed about air. I wish every people had a chance to see those mysteries in place which they belong.
YanıtlaSilİ started liking history when İ was 13 years old . Not just history espcially, ancient times of middle east and places around middle east. And theres something special about the history of Egypt ,something ''misterioso'' just like our latin frienda say. This might be the magical taste of their culture, makes me wonder and makes me want to read it more and more.İ thought the text could be able to satisfy my curiosity and desire to read about the mysterious history of the Egypt , but İ was disappointed .There could be more details .İ liked the extraordinary story about chambers ,but I wish there was more details.

YanıtlaSilIssue:Ancient Artifacts and Ancient Air
Like the scientists I very disappointed. Before I had read it, I very wondered. Because the topic is very intriguing, but it was processed very badly.Probably it's reason is that the author wanted to talk about connection of between science and archaeologic excavations, but it turned a boring paragraph. The author mentioned two excavation near the base of the Great Pyramid, they uncovered an ancient crypt. The author informed us about excavations, and the scientists' expectations. During the second excavation the scientists made a mistake, and they damage second boat also second room, and probably destroyed the seal. While I was reading, I waited to find an interesting thing such as a story about pyramids or crypts, and also pharaohs were mentioned. Maybe there were a lot of details. If I continue to write, I will write bad things about writing so it is better if I do not write.Eventually I can say that it was a good topic, but it was a boring paragraph.
