YanıtlaSilThe text of this week was the birth order. It is a realy controversial issue that everybody has a different opinion about it. Before I read the text, I had believed that the birth order affects children behaviors, intelligenge, and personality, but now I become confused. The reason why I am confused is that the author dealt with the problem from many aspects. On the other hand, there is lots of information which is the result of the research is the reason why I like this passage. It is focused on not only one point, but also various points to give information. This text does not include only the personal idea of the auther because it is ridden with contradictions. Do not think that thşs style is wrong. If the writer had featured only his or her view, the text would be boring a little, and the main purpose of the auther would turned to convince the readers. It is a good style not to focus on only one side of an issue. In my point of view, the text is good because it helps the readers look a controvercial topic like this one from a different standpoint.

SilIt is nice to see that you have organized your ideas in a good manner. I see that you have comprehended the text and summarized the main idea. Plus, you have reflected on the author's style as well. However, I would like to remind you that you'd better include some ideas from the second text, too. Maybe the integration of the two texts could make your journal more reflective. Furthermore, next time you could take one aspect discussed in the text and mention your own idea on that aspect. YanıtlaSilFirst issue of this week is about the birth order myth.As far as I know,birth order affects children especially,their personality,but to each his own.I think that the text is puzzling.Why I think so is obvious because this text inludes too many subtitles which have a great number of researchs.Therefore,the author may be fastidious,or maybe,the author want to reach impeachable truth.Although almost every author want to write superb or at least readable writing,this author wholly stands out against this opinion.On the other hand,in spite of disagrees,I agree one point of author.The one point that the author try to be neutral,and also,this attempt ends successful because whichever parts or lines you read,you cannot find any personal comment.Also,you can find only researchs.Finally,I have to state that writing style of this text is difficult to understand,so maybe this situation make this text puzzling.The second issue of this week is hand in hand topic with the birth order.The text is about whether or not single-child parents make second child.This is a can of worms in all ways.Single-child parents want to make second child because they have a stigma.The reason of be ashamed whether or not the first child will have psychological problems because of lack of a sibling.On the other hand,they have no time to care second child.Moreover,some of them have not enough money to care second child.In other words,a new child can seem to burden.Each question is discussed by the author obviously.The author do not try to make word games i.e. the author write the text unlike the first text's author.Moreover,the author mention a great number of points which are related with the problem in order to help people.Unfortunately,the first text's author has a different aim.Also,this text is attractive because its writing style is clear .In brief,the second text is centuple as good as the first text

YanıtlaSilBefore I read, I was thinking a little different from now. More of my knowledge about being firstborn and only child was just a myth. It is hard to change old theories, but I understood that everything has a scientific explanation. Researchersthink that there is no firstborn personality, but I think they are wrong. I have elder sister, and she is also the biggest child of my family. She is full of responsibility, and always hardworking. Maybe, she is an exception but still the biggest proof of my ideas. Writer have statistics, but I have experience. Statistics is just numbers for me. It is pure information, and not include emotion. However experience is different. I always prefer experience to statistics. This book use lots of statistics. Sometimes I feel like drowning in numbers. That's why I don't like this book. I think the other text which about having a second child is much more interesting than birth-order thing. After read the text I thought, I will never have only one baby. I will have at least two or none. I really enjoyed the text. It was interesting and made me think. To sum up, there is some similarities between two texts. Both of them include having children. I enjoyed while I was reading the second text.

YanıtlaSilI am dead set against the text.I do not agree almost nothing what is in the text.The author tried to show all researches to us in order to justify himself,but I think he fabricated the all researches. The author said that the birth-order does not matter. I am sorry, but I cannot agree with this nonsensical idea. I really wondered who make researches, and with who because I can easily refute it with people whom I have met untill now. The other thing is that the author and the researches were showed by the author said that the birth-oder does not important, but family size does. I really had difficulty in order to reconcile this two different ideas when I was reading the text because I just cannot believe that. When family size can affect the personality, how does not birth order affect? It is the same thing actually. If family size affects the personality, it means that the birth order is important because There are older one,and younger one in family size like the author said. In my humble opinion the author did not decide about this topic, he looked like against the birth-order, but his defend opinions said that the birth-order is important in a different way. Last but not least I do not like this text, and I do not agree the author's idea.

YanıtlaSilI hardly think so that the birth order has any impect on the personality of children , but I think it has an impect on parents . Forexample you would not have the same taste of happyness with the 2. born , that you had from 1. born . Order of children changes the parents , and there's no affect on children. First , author talks about the impect of birt order on children then he argues that the number of children has the real impect.I am surprised about the self condratiction of the text .This contradiction confused me . Also I do not understand why this book is obsessed about social family stuff. I should say that previous text was much better than this one because it defends the 1 idea on a 1 topic.

Instead, you could compare and contrast two texts studied throughout the same week. You can integrate any points discussed in two texts or find the contradictory points and reflect on them. YanıtlaSilIn the long run,this text was the last one of the first unit.What a boring text!I have no idea why scientists are curious about birth order.One side says birth order affect whole life,another side says something else...Though,all of them proved(!) That's why I do not believe that they can prove their ideas with 200-300 people.In my opinion,birth order does not affect our destiny.In other words,I am the member of ''another part sicentists.''Why I am think like that is obvious because environment has a enormous affect on our lives.Another subject was spacing.I think space between the sibling's ages is important.I have a sister who is older than me ,and if I say ''She has no effect on me '',I tell a lie.To sum up,stop searching this issue!!Needless to say,you cannot be settled on this issue.I have a suggestion for scientists of the birth order.What about searcing yourself?I wonder about your birth order.Dear author ,please add this research to next eddition of ''Concepts of Today.''

YanıtlaSilHappy to read handout.It is the most interesting style We have ever seen recently.I am tryingto say that second reading was written in reported style,and it is efficient for me because we are always got educating style readings.I guess it might be good that the teacher rarely give us different style readings.I cannot compare which one did tell us the story well due to not understanding.The issue is not any make sense for me.What I know is that differences ara good.

SilWhile writing your journal please remember that you are not reflecting on the writer's style but on the content of the given text. The reader should understand what the text was about and your personal opinion, whether agree or disagree on ay points discussed in the text(s). Next time, please bear this in mind.
The writer of this text has taken birth order in many perspectives. He wrote about different situations and their effects. It is good because of his objectiveness. Also, there are some research and studies which I found not persuasive very much. I believe that the birth order affects ones personality. Furthermore, it seems to me these two studies refute the theories of each other. I believe birth order and family size are very close topics. I do not think that one of them can affect the personality while the other cannot. For me, this text is nothing but a waste of time. Because of my absence in class on Thursday, I do not have the worksheet, so there is nothing I can say to integrate.

We have been talking about names, birth order and their effects, It is rather dull to me. What will happen if birth order affects our personal features or not? In generally first born child is like a subject. Parents have no experiences, and they try to find a different ways to grow up their child.First born children are totally different from their siblings, birth order affects us, but I guess family size is more effective than birth order or something else. If you grew up in a huge family, no matter if you are first born or not.Parents are not interested their children, and then they try to find love or something like that in the streets, such as east region of my country.
