  1. READING JOURNAL-9
The main subject of each text is the system of high education which refers to colleges, universities or institutes. The first text which is in the book is more explanatory than the second, which means the first's informations make sense. The second text's author try to clarify the differences between colleges and universities. This information may be useful for American students, but actually reading this article is waste of time for us.I think that the author mention some education systems makes readability worse.I want to mention something about UC and CSU systems, but they don't interest me.If the author had mentioned interesting things, everything would be OK for both of us.Unlike the second text,I find some enthralling points, but I detect that author extols the education system of America somehow he doesn't bring the issue of racism up.As far as I know, the white American students discriminate against the muslims, the far eastern people ,and also afro-american people. Also,I want to raise a question to author:why is the text too interminable. There is one point which makes me surprised.Unlike the my belief, somehow the Japanese trust the American universities. If I were them ,I would attend my own country's universities whichever difficulties exist

  2. READING JOURNAL - 9
Education system is the topic of this week. The text which is in the book touches on the differences between the United States, Japan, and Europe in terms of universities and types of colleges. That the text is wordy may make people bored or tired, but because this topic should be examined in detail, the author wrote such a long text. On the other hand, this text includes lots of information which can be useful for people to criticize the countries. Before I read this text, I had had some difficulties to distinguish what the university and the college mean in foreign countries, so I can say that although I got bored while I was reading this text because of its lenght, it is useful and full of information. This text includes not only the basic meaning of university and college, but also their structure such as freedom of choice about fields, entiring exams, peymanent, etc. It says that universities in the United States are much more preferred by students that in the other countries because they are flexible and easy-to-enter. The author shows us the percentage of students who prefer these countries such as the United States, Japan, and Europe as an evidence. If I went to another counrty to study, I would prefer a university in the United States. The second text is not as long as the first one, but it does not include banausic information. It is easy-to-read, but it cannot help people about their decisions. This text mainly focuses on universities in the United States. Only in the last paragraph of it, it is mentioned about the other countries. I this text, the author emphasizes the meanings of worlds, college and university. It did not take so much time to read for me, it is not enough to instruct people especially students. To sum up, the first text is better, although it is longer than the second one.

  3. Both topics are about higher education. The first one draws a distinction between education systems of the USA, Japan, and Europe and specifies how they work. It gives lots of details about their differences in many ways. Also, it has information about foreign students in these countries. Despite the fact that text has very important information, it always favors the system of the USA. Hence, I did not like the text at all. As a foreigner to their system I cannot say I like the text which is not written objectively, and I am sure that I am not alone. The second text is not written like the first one. It is much more about the distinction between college, university, and institution. Also, text has many examples which makes us understand easily differences between these three choose of higher education in the USA and another countries. It is probably because of my founding the first text is written with favoritism, I think that second one is better and more useful.
